GoodTurn Cycles partners with a program called Job 180 to provide on-the-job training to young people. The goal of Jobs 180 is to develop well-rounded individuals capable of securing positions in the professional career world. Our apprenticeship program is geared toward permanent positive change, so we emphasize individual attention, helping participants set personal and professional goals while working together toward meeting them.
Participating apprentices work through a three-month curriculum that acquaints them with the major components of bicycle repair and retail sales. The curriculum includes, but is not limited to:
- Orientation to electric-assist bicycles
- Wheels, hubs, and brakes
- Drivetrain adjustment and maintenance
- Bottom bracket overhaul
- Headset and handlebars
- Customer service and interaction
- Digital marketing and advertising
- Social media and effective blog posts
- Personal finance and budgeting
- SMART Goals
- Balance and personal health
GoodTurn Cycles and Jobs 180 are proud to partner with the following organizations.
The Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Workforce Center provides our apprentices with leadership development training, career coaching, and funding to pursue training beyond our apprenticeship program. They also assist our apprentices in finding long-term job placement upon the completion of our program.
